County Road 210 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and "Walk and Roll" Party

The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. for the grand opening of County Road 210. This ceremony will be held at the east end of County Road 210 near the intersection with County Road 212 (Smelter Mountain Road) for the opening of the new road alignment that connects Camino del Rio (Highway 550/160) to County Road 141 (Wildcat Canyon Road). Colorado Outdoor Recreational Search and Rescue Card: A Good Investment

Colorado residents and visitors are well served by dedicated volunteer search and rescue teams, but search and rescue mission costs are often in the thousands of dollars. By purchasing a Colorado Outdoor Recreational Search and Rescue Card (CORSAR) (formerly known as a Colorado Hiking Certificate), outdoor enthusiasts contribute to the Colorado Search and Rescue Fund, which will reimburse these teams for eligible costs incurred in a search and rescue mission to prevent billing of victims. La Plata County Strategic Plan – County Compass

The draft Comprehensive Plan is now ready for your review at www.laplatacountyplan.com or pick up a hard copy at either the public libraries or the County Planning Department.

To allow the public full enjoyment of the new road, La Plata County will be opening County Road 210 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm on Friday, September 3, 2010 for pedestrians and bicyclists to “Walk and Roll” on the new road without motorized traffic.
