At their March 10, 2015 Business meeting, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners appointed Commissioner Gwen Lachelt as Chair of the Board for the remainder of 2015.

The La Plata County Planning Commission will be hosting a public meeting the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E 2nd Avenue, Durango to review progress of the La Plata County Comprehensive Plan updates. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings.

2014 property tax bills have been mailed to all La Plata County property owners. Property taxes are paid retroactively, meaning that 2014 taxes are paid in 2015.
