Floodplain Ordinance Adoption
The adoption timeline is established, and the new ordinances will be effective April 25th, 2024. On February 20th and March 5th, the BoCC will be considering amendments to the LUC Code to update the Floodplain Regulations, Chapter 78, following the recommendation for approval by the Planning Commission at their January 25th meeting.

Planning Fee Schedule
Update
On December 12th, the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) approved the proposed Planning and Building Fee Schedules, which went into effect January 1st, 2024.


Our Mission is to provide land use resource management and development opportunities to residents, landowners, and businesses to support a prosperous, vibrant, and beautiful community. Our staff strive to:
  • Provide complete and current information to the public,
  • Explain regulations regarding land use possibilities in the county,
  • Process land development requests per the County Code,
  • Advise decision-makers regarding land use, growth, and development issues in our community, and
  • Combine current planning and long-range planning to best serve the public interest while allowing growth to occur.
