County Commissioner Kellie Hotter Elected to Colorado Counties, Inc. Board of Directors
Durango, CO – La Plata County Commissioner Kellie C. Hotter was elected to the Board of Directors of Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) at the CCI Conference last week. CCI is a non-profit, membership association whose purpose is to offer assistance to county commissioners, mayors and council members, and to facilitate counties working together on common issues. Governed by a board of directors consisting of eight commissioners from across the state, their focus is on information, education and legislative representation. CCI keeps members up-to-date on issues that directly impact county operations and works to present a united voice to the Colorado General Assembly and other government and regulatory bodies to help shape the future.
“This is the first time that La Plata County has had a commissioner elected to the CCI Board of Directors,” said Wally White, Chair of the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners. “We are very pleased to have representation at this level.”
Commissioner Hotter has held the La Plata County Commissioner seat since February, 2006. In 2007, Commissioner Hotter was appointed to the National Association of Counties Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee for a one-year term and was appointed to the State of Colorado Sex Offender Management Board, where she has served for the last three years. Commissioner Hotter also serves on the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium, the Southwest Workforce Investment Board, the Regional Housing Alliance Board, the Southwest (Region 9) Workforce Board, the Area Agency (AAA) on Aging Board, the Durango Area Tourism Office Board, and is the La Plata County Board liaison to Club 20 and the La Plata Economic Development Alliance.
“I am very honored to serve on the CCI Board of Directors,” said Commissioner Hotter. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with other counties throughout the state on issues of mutual interest and concern, and representing Southwest Colorado on this Board.”
