Durango, CO - The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will host a reception to honor Linda Daley upon the conclusion of her fifth term of office as La Plata County’s Clerk & Recorder on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Extension Building at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Avenue, Durango. Temporary Medical Marijuana Facility Land Use Regulations Passed Unanimously
Durango, CO – On Tuesday, December 7, 2010, the Temporary Medical Marijuana Facility Land Use Regulations (Chapter 91 of the La Plata County Land Use Code) for La Plata County were passed by unanimous vote of the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC). Several amendments were made to the regulations during the hearing and three additional amendments will be considered on at the December 21, 2010 BoCC Planning Agenda meeting. County Offers Information on Snow Removal and Driving Safety
Durango, CO – During the winter months, snow removal is the primary responsibility of the La Plata County Road and Bridge Department. To keep over 600 miles of county roads clear, County Road and Bridge crews drive in excess of 1,500 miles for every winter snow storm. (This does not include state highways, such as 160, 550, 140 and 172, any roads within municipalities or private roads.) Particularly during heavy snow storms, this can be a daunting task.
