The La Plata County Fairgrounds, located on 32 acres in the heart of Durango, is a beehive of community activity; and a multitude of users share the diverse Fairgrounds facilities. The facilities include a 10,000 square foot exhibit hall, six spacious meeting rooms, a rodeo arena complete with grandstands and livestock pens, a 33,000 square foot pavilion for livestock shows and exercising horses, two baseball fields and open space for outdoor and recreational activities.

Annual events such as the La Plata County Fair and Fiesta Days celebrate our community’s rural southwestern lifestyle and are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The La Plata County Fair is held yearly in early August. Open Class Livestock Entry Forms, Demolition Derby Entry Forms and Rules and Regulations, and booth contracts can be printed from the website and mailed to 2500 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301, with appropriate fees. Year-round activities at the Fairgrounds include business and social functions (training classes, business meetings, receptions and community fundraisers), consumer and hobby events (auctions, trade shows, bazaars and carnivals), equestrian activities, rodeos and livestock events, and recreational uses including baseball, lacrosse, frisbee, yoga and aerobics classes.  To book an event, please contact Jane Zimmerman at 382-6468 or zimmermanmj@co.laplata.co.us.

Exhibit Hall - 10,000 feet of event space, a 300 square foot alcove and a full service commercial kitchen with two 1,300 square foot meeting rooms upstairs.  Video conferencing and WIFI available.

The La Plata County Fairgrounds is one of the most valuable and highly utilized properties in La Plata County. WEED MANAGEMENT

Helping property owners identify and manage noxious weeds is another service offered through the Weed Office at the Fairgrounds.  La Plata County also offers a weed cost-share program to assist property owners with weed management.
