Application Process for Colorado Master Gardener Program Now Open
CSU MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM APPLICATION DEADLINE NOVEMBER 14: The Colorado State University’s Master Gardener program in La Plata County will be taking applications for next year's class until November 20, 2009.
Students will receive training in tree care, vegetables, soils, native plants, water wise gardening, insects and diseases of plants and much more. The training utilizes on-site and distant education experts to teach a series of eleven classes.
Date: Classes start January 21, 2010 Days: Thursdays Time: 9:00 am to 4:00pm Location: La Plata County Fairgrounds
Cost:
$180 if you intend to volunteer

Location – applications are also available at the Extension Office at the Fairgrounds or the Durango Farmers Market.
2009 Backyard Food Production
CSU Extension is excited to announce the "2009 Backyard Food Production" series to be held this fall.
As the emphasis on local food production increases, we felt that this would be a great time to get people interested (or re-interested) in producing their own food - be in the backyard, the back forty, or the community garden.
Classes will be held:
Date: Beginning September 28th - For 7 Weeks Days: Monday and Wednesday Time: 6-8:00pm Location: La Plata County Fairgrounds Extension Building
2500 Main Avenue, DurangoCost: $120 (just $10 per class) This series will be taught by CSU Extension and Research Personnel, as well as local experts.
Be sure to register early because space is limited and we will only have room for 40 students.
