La Plata County Challenges Residents and Employees to Reduce Gasoline Use and Save Energy
La Plata County enrolled in two national competitions - two ways to "go green," save money, help the environment, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, and promote energy independence. These competitions are sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo). La Plata County placed second in both contests in 2008 and in 2009.
