Our Mission

The mission of the Human Resources and Risk Management department is to provide recruitment, compensation, consultation, workforce development and risk management services to La Plata County departments so they can effectively and efficiently deliver services to the citizens of La Plata County.

The Human Resources Department coordinates recruiting, training, administers employee salary and benefits programs, and provides personnel services to over 400 County employees.  The County offers challenging job opportunities and competitive salaries and benefits for its staff.
