Building Code

There have been several local amendments to the international codes, including a minimum foundation design and a formula to establish the roof snow load based on the elevation of a building site. These local amendments are available on La Plata County Code - Buildings and Building Regulations.

The La Plata County Planning and Building Departments recently completed a four-year Floodplain Map Modification Project which will be incorporated into the La Plata County Code, Chapter 78, "Floods."  To view the "redlined" and "clean" versions of the proposed changes to the County Code, click here.
