Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
This event is held annually - the next event is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the La Plata County Fairgrounds at 2500 Main Avenue, Durango, Colorado. This event is sponsored by La Plata County and the City of Durango as a way to provide a safe and convenient place where citizens can dispose of their stored house hold hazardous wastes. The requested donation amount per vehicle is $15.00.

Computer and electronics collections will not be accepted at this event. Instead, the City of Durango and San Juan Basin Recycling Association will be conducting a two day e-waste collection event twice a year at the Durango Recycling Center, 710 Tech Center Drive from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. In 2010, the Spring event was held on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 and the Fall event is scheduled on Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30.
