Special Services
The Mission of the La Plata County Special Services Division:
To provide prisoner transport/extradition, special needs in various emergencies, educational and role model programs to reduce drug use, the School Resource Officer, civil process, training coordination, public information, Victim Services, provide security for the courts and courthouse, front office administration, and manage Reserve Deputy Bureau.
There are twenty-seven (27) employees in the Special Services Division, fourteen (14) deputies, five (5) part-time deputies/reserves, and seven (7) civilians. Captain Garrett Valencia directs the Division.
