Absinth wormwood (Artemisia absinthium L.)

Absinth wormwood Absinth wormwood is a member of the Sunflower family. It is a robust perennial that grows 16 to 48 inches tall with large leaves which are oblong in shape. Stems arise from a taproot and branch from the base. Stems are 1/2 -inch in diameter or greater and reddish in color. The leaves have a sage scent to them.  Flowering occurs in the fall. It is frequently found near streams, lakes or irrigation ditches.
