This webpage has been set up to provide La Plata County residents with information about marijuana regulation in unincorporated La Plata County.

If you have *general* questions about marijuana licensing in La Plata County, or to apply fora business license, please contact the County’s Code Enforcement Officer at (970) 382-6253.  You should also review the Marijuana Licensing Information Sheet for general information about the licensing process.

If you have land use questions, please contact the La Plata County Planning Department at (970) 382-6263.

* The County CANNOT provide legal and/or business advice to individuals about starting and operating a marijuana business or about questions related to personal use and consumption.

Questions regarding licensing requirements within the city limits of Durango should be directed to the Durango City Clerk.

Note:  To be eligible for issuance of a license to operate a medical or retail marijuana establishment, all owners must have been Colorado residents for at least 2 years prior to the application date.
