La Plata County Commissioners Seek Historic Preservation Review Commission Member

The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an interested individual to serve on the Historic Preservation Review Commission. The purpose of the Commission is to preserve cultural, historic, and architectural history within the County. Duties of the Commission are to review requests for designation of historic landmarks and historic districts; to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners with respect to the preservation of cultural, historic and/or architectural history within the boundaries of the County, and to consider any requests for designation of historic landmarks and historic districts.

Members must be residents of La Plata County and have expertise or experience in historic preservation.

This position is advisory and is not monetarily compensated. An application and board description may be obtained online at, or from the Administration Office at the La Plata County Administration Building at 1101 E. 2nd Avenue, Durango. Applications are due by October 1, 2016.
