La Plata County Commissioners' schedule May 28-June 3

MONDAY, May 29

La Plata County offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

TUESDAY, May 30

8:30 a.m. - EXECUTIVE SESSION

Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4) upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

 a) For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b) for legal advice regarding appeals of the orders from the March 2017 Board of Assessment Appeal  (“BAA”) hearings on tax appeals regarding classification of real property as “residential land” for tax purposes under C.R.S. § 39-1-102(14.4)(a) and an employment investigation.

10 a.m. – BUSINESS AGENDA

The Board will consider:

  • Approval of the submission of grant applications to the Local Government Limited Gaming Impact Program
  • Approval of abatement of $10,058.44 to GFP Mercado LLC for tax year 2016
  • Approval of abatement of $10,576.92 to GRVP LLC for tax year 2016
  • Approval of a letter of support for Lumien II Project
  • Approval of Resolution 2017-20 of the Board of County Commissioners directing the Treasurer to release $27,203.25 from the School Park Fund #228 and to pay same to Durango School District 9-R
  • Approval of an appointment to the Citizens Review Panel for Child Welfare Grievances
  • Approval of amendments to lease agreements for 10 Burnett Court, Quadrants 310, 320, 330, and 340
  • Approval of a Special Event liquor permit for Community Connections
  • Approval of the renewal of a Bed & Breakfast permit for Blue Lake Ranch
  • Approval of the renewal of a Retail Store liquor license for Animas Wine & Spirits
  • Approval of a letter of support for Volunteers of America low-income housing tax credit application
  • Approval of County cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish
  • Consideration of a comment letter in response to United States Forest Service scoping request for BP America horizontal gas drilling in Saul’s Creek

4:30 p.m. – The Board has been invited to attend the Multi-Event Center Master Plan community meeting at Escalante Middle School, 141 Baker Lane, Durango.


WEDNESDAY,
May 31

9 a.m. – WORK SESSION: The Board will meet with planners of the Multi-Event Center Master Plan in the Board room of the County Administration Building, 1101 East 2nd Ave., Durango.

         

1 p.m. - BOARD DISCUSSION TIME:  The Commissioners will meet among themselves and with staff to discuss various issues. An agenda for this meeting will be posted by Tuesday morning at:  http://laplatacountyco.iqm2.com/Citizens/calendar.aspx

THURSDAY, June 1

6 p.m. – The Board has been invited to attend the Animas Watershed Partnership and the San Juan Watershed Group Spring River Forum at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington Street, Farmington, NM.
