Census Bureau to do follow up throughout summer

    Workers from the U.S. Census Bureau will be working through mid-August to complete the 2010 count. The calls and contacts will be made to clarify answers that have been given and to make sure that everyone is counted once, only once and in the right place.

 Not every household will be contacted after their completed forms are returned, just ones where further clarity is needed.

2010 Census Still Underway in La Plata County

   Although April 1, 2010 was listed as the official CENSUS DAY, a number of forms are still in the delivery process throughout the region.  Census forms will mainly be hand delivered in La Plata County. This will include door hangers left at residences. The southern portion of La Plata County, from approximately State Hwy 160 south to the state line, will be enumerated in person.  This means that a census employee will hand deliver the census form and fill out the form with the resident.
